A graduate of the University of South Florida, Dr. Foroughi chose a path very different from his family’s engineering background when he discovered his passion for dentistry. He attended Boston University, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1997.

After graduating, Dr. Foroughi moved to Miami, where he began practicing dentistry. In 1999, he married his soon-to-be dental partner and wife, Dr. Jarquin. Together, they dreamed of creating a dental practice where patients would receive excellent care while also feeling comfortable, listened to, and genuinely cared for.

That dream became a reality in 2001 when they opened Family Smile Dentistry.

From the beginning, Dr. Foroughi believed dentistry should be personal. He wanted to build a practice where patients were more than an appointment on the schedule — where they were known by name, their concerns were heard, and treatment was never about simply “selling dentistry.” That philosophy continues to guide him today.

Dr. Foroughi is also passionate about continuing education and embracing advances in dental technology. He has been a member of the prestigious Seattle Study Club and the Tampa Bay CEREC Club, allowing him to stay connected with the latest developments in modern dentistry.

For Dr. Foroughi, the goal has always been a simple one: provide the quality dental care you would want for your own family, while treating every patient like a member of ours.

Originally from Nicaragua, Dr. Jarquin moved to the United States with her family during childhood. Growing up, she had a wonderful example of what it meant to truly love your profession. Her father was a dentist, and she watched firsthand the pride he took in his work and the genuine care he had for his patients. His dedication inspired Dr. Jarquin to follow in his footsteps and pursue dentistry herself.

Dr. Jarquin graduated from Dade Community College before continuing her education at Boston University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1997. Boston University was especially meaningful in her life — not only did she earn her dental degree there, but it was also where she met her future husband, Dr. Foroughi.

After graduation, Dr. Jarquin returned home to Miami, where she practiced dentistry for two years before moving to Bradenton in 1999. That same year, she and Dr. Foroughi were married and began dreaming about building a private dental practice of their own — a place where they could care for their patients with the same dedication and personal attention they had learned to value throughout their careers.

That dream eventually became Family Smile Dentistry.

Today, Dr. Jarquin continues to bring that same passion and personal connection to every patient she cares for. She believes dentistry is about more than treating teeth; it is about getting to know the person sitting in the chair, listening to their concerns, and helping them feel comfortable and cared for.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Jarquin and Dr. Foroughi are proud parents to twin daughters, Kiana and Kayla. Both girls are now attending the University of Florida — Go Gators! — making family, dentistry, and a little Gator pride a big part of the Jarquin-Foroughi story.
